I just recently got rid of my landpride 48" overseeder. I had it for 8 years and used it to overseed my horse pastures in the spring and fall. It was reliable. Is it effective? I would need more information on what particular application you are going to do with this rig. One thing I did early on was learn that it is not a good idea to leave your extra un-used seed in the hopper and tubes over the winter and expect to go right out and seed in the spring. It clogged the tubes and I had to blow everything out with high pressure air and start anew. The spiders and small critters loved to nest in the tubes, as I did not use the machine all the time, so cleaning the tubes before use made it function just fine.....

I would like to use it for new lawn installations and for renovating lawns with bare or bad patches.
We would also use it alot for sub division work between kerbs and footpath.

I have not used one personally. The Sod farms around here use them for seeding new stands. They work well for them from what I have seen.
