Hey guys, I am a landscape contractor, but I do not do irrigation installs. I am considering having misters placed throughout my planting beds and will be contracting someone else to do it. Please give some tips on what to expect in pricing, heads, timers, etc.. I rarely see irrigation in planting beds and was wondering if this is wise to do or is it the cost that keeps people from doing it. Thanks for your responses.

Since the system is already in place...it might be difficult to do. Make sure you have a quality irrigation contractor look at it. If you are lucky the following items will be needed (close by hopefully).

A valve box in the proximity (within 10 feet)
Multi-wire cable (should be 6-8 colored strands)
Controller has capacity for an additional zone(s)

If you just want to jackleg it and their is an irrigation head close by...

insert a tap/snap-tee onto the zone, and install a small wand in the center of the bed.

My suggestion though is to talk with an irrigation specialist who can look at the system and determine what needs to be done before screwing things up!

it can be done...it just depends on how much you want to spend...it is definitely easer the way jasond described it...but if you do not have that set up, don't sweat it...it can be done...call me...for the right price i will do anything.
