45 yards of mulch......200 linear feet of edging....minimum of weeding and mulch bed cleanup.....a large project indeed. The mulch costs me $28 per yard....what would you charge?

Thats alot of mulch for 200 feet. I can geta tri axle load of mulch for 290.00 and that is 23 c.u yrds so for 45 yrds would be 580 + tax and labor would be 500.00 as long as its easy access to beds and not alot of selective herbicide spot treatments. The biggest part of this job is moving mulch from point a to point b.

Depends on the degree of diffaculty, $50.00 per yard easy job, $60.00 per yard for lots of wheeling and shoveling.

You would really install 45yds of mulch, spot spray , and edge 200lft for $ 500.00, and not even mark up the mulch? I know everyone's prices are different, but that same job would run $ 2925.00 for the mulch and prep / installation, and another $ 75.00 for edging-$3K...Just curious why so low:confused:

At $40/hour, which is what *we* charge, ONE GUY would have to spread all 45 yards in 12.5 hours.

Simply not possible. It took 3 of us all day to do 25 yards at a site last year, and the edging was already done. All day equates to over twice as much time for half as much mulch.

I'd better be able to scoop it right off of the truck into where it goes for 12.5 hours worth of labor. And not have to spread it.

Pricing in my area would be $3,150 to install the mulch, and $60.00/hr for bed prep. $70.00 per yard installation is common in my area of Massachusetts, where are you from? Good luck.
