This was a volunteer job I did for a local high school. They are going to place a statue under the cap rock. There will be three fountains in front of the statue with a 500 gal pondless retention system. The slabs are from Lynchburg, OH, each weighs between 800-2000lbs. The cap stone is Indian Gray aprox 13'x8' and 10000lbs. All the walls were reinforced with appropriate geogrid and drain-tile. Several drains had to be relocated or installed. From start to the point shown was approximately 4 weeks.

Slabs: 220 tons
#57 lime no dust: 160 tons
DGA: 140 tons

Oh and I realize there is a slight slope to the back most portion of the two walls but the front corners are actually level and this job was completed under severe time restraints...and it was free.

I did not buy the stone quarry direct, but the supplier I used is the one that digs it processes it, and wholesales it across the midwest. I paid a little bit more but it allowed me to be a little more picky when it came to dimensions and quality so basicly no waste. We paid $100 bucks a ton.

We donated the labor, all the equiptment rental was donated, the gravel was hauled at cost. All said and done the project still cost just under a hundred grand. That does include the statue (19 grand) that is being made in Italy and wont be here for another couple of months.

it looks nice but i dont know if it looks like a 100g's. i think i would have used a diffrent stone that would have looked darn good but been 1/4 the price. oh well if you have it spend it.

If you can find a cheaper stone shipped to me than I would be happy to know about it. I have worked in stone sales wholesale/retail in this area and there is none to be had. I can get it quarry direct for 20 a ton but that is unprocessed and doesn't include shipping. There is still alot to be completed at that price: railing, concrete pad, water feature, statue, landscaping, electric, and irrigation. Ill keep the pics coming as it goes.

I actually liked a stone out of Michigan but they wanted 375 a ton even at that quantity. Thanks but no thanks on that one.

wow looks great, I can't believe the school had 100gs to spend on a project like that. around here you're lucky if they have a shade tree in the budget. doing any plantings to take away the "big pile of rock" look?

It is actually covington catholic high school. I went to St. X(now that is a stadium) The plantings will be going in shortly just have to get all the other hardscaping done. We are going to stay simple with knockouts, sweet bays, river birch, and some pines.
