    hi everyone,
so heres the deal i put a lawn in a shady place in my yard using scotts premium shade mix as really no sun got there at all for most of the day. Lawn came in great kept it watered all was well. Then soeone boought building lot next store that was vacant for over 15 years and decided to cut down every tree known to man kind so now its sunny alot of the day on the grass. Needless to say alot of it died but some remains as i overseeded prior to this with sun/shade mix. Now the grass is thin and bare with some spots having none at all. What would you suggest doing in the spring aerating then overseeding, then raking it in and watering or using a slit slicer instead?

any suggestions welcome were located in connecticut.

Seeding in the spring is always a challenge. If you own the slit seeder, by all means give it a try. If not, rake it, throw seed down and fix it right at the end of summer. And whatever you do, don't use pre-emergent.
