Lawn Boy no start

Very old Lawn Boy R7268, started and ran fine for eons. The owner turned it up on it's side (carburetor up) to remove the blade for sharpening. No start ever since.

Getting gas, has spark. The compression seems very low. The Exhaust ports are clear.

Any ideas on why this event would trigger the no start?

What are the rebuilding options for this low compression? The owner really likes this mower.

    Thanks,

    Niel

He may have messed up the kill switch. NOW listen very closely to this. Some Lawnboy you ground the coil to kill it just like all other engines but some Lawnboys have to have the coil grounded to run and you remove the ground to kill it. Lawnboy is the only engine I know of that does that. Also this is a 2-cycle engine so if he messed up the crankshaft seal when changing the blade the engine will be sucking air and never start until a new seal is installed.
