As I have in the subject, I want to talk about lawn insects. Seems I havn't had a run in yet with grubs and mole crickets but I have some that I find is odd to be seen out from under a home or covered area.

Black crickets - We have a ton of these around. Not to be confused with mole crickets. (does this insect do harm or good?)

Millipedes - Again a ton of em around, usually found under a bag of mulch or flower pot (does this insect do harm or good?)

Carpenter bees - boy these things are fat and fly like they are underwater. Their ability to hover is amazing second to their ability to dodge my towel, bat or stick. They might be fat but they can move when they see a object heading their way. I can't imagine a stinger on the end of that tail but if it has one and decides to use it I'll let you all know. XD

There are more, only I don't know the names of em only what I might call them sometime :p Have you got a nuisance bug hanging around? Post here maybe we can get a little database going for those who don't know how to deal with these guys yet.

We don't have any serious insects problems in Wisco that I've ever seen. Maybe ants. but borax eliminates them qickly and easily. I think lawn insects are over-rated. Maybe grubs could get out of control, but moles are the biggest hazard.
