Thanks a lot city school bus. I yelled stop about 10 times she kept on driving. Knocked over my cones and everything. They’ve got 1 week to make it right. Or I’m calling my attorney. The driver has to know they are fired. No way on earth you pull a hit & run in a school bus and keep your job.

Prob be promoted to Bus Garage manager. I guess lucky no one was hurt or killed or your trailer door ripped off etc. Sorry for your loss.

Around here school corps are desperate for school bus drivers…if it happened here I bet she would get a light slap on the wrist and continue driving.
Sorry it happened…when I read it was a new trailer bought to replace a stolen one…..that’s the icing on the gravy and adds another layer to it. Hope you get compensated for it quickly.

As if the fender wasn’t bad enough. It gets worse guys. How much worse? The rear axle is bent worse. The axel has been bent to the point that the brakes are against the drum. So after hitting the freeway today. The rear brakes caught on fire. God bless the guy who flagged me down to let me know.🙏🏿 I pull over on the shoulder and smoke is bellowing from the brakes. I grab the fire extinguisher from the trailer. And have it at the ready. Wasn’t going to deploy it unless I saw flames. I had a case of water in the truck. So grabbed about 5 bottles and started dowsing the rear brakes. They were so hot that the water boiled on contact. So grabbed more water and kept dowsing it till it somewhat cooled. I sat on the shoulder of the freeway for about 30 mins to let them cool as long as possible. While waiting I called my Insurance company and filed a claim. And will go after the school system for reimbursement. So I have 11 lawns tomorrow. And can’t use the trailer. The brakes got so hot that they essentially heat welded themselves. I’m not a happy hombre right now.🤬

But wait there’s more! So I can’t use the inclosed till the axel’s fix. Meanwhile. I’ve got 11 lawns to services today. So I’m rolling back the hands of time and going ol school. Ramps with the 36 walk behind in the bed of the truck. After 1.5 hrs getting setup for working from the truck bed. I’m off and mowing. Get to my second on the route. It’s overgrown and crazy thick. I’m running the 36 with 13hp. Yard takes me 2hrs. With my Cheetah…30 mins. Get to number three of the day. And wouldn’t you know it. The 36 bites the dust. Left driveshaft spit out the key or stripped the threads. Either or,it’s done. Yards half cut. Can’t leave it like that. Leave the 36 in the back yard. Head back and get the HRX217 45 mins later. Back at the property to finish the lawn. I threw in the towel. I can’t load the 36 in the bed, because only one shaft is pulling. So have to go rent a small trailer tomorrow to be able to get the 36 from my customers backyard. And only got 3 of the 11 done today. I’m thinking about hanging up my cleats for good.

Don't hang up the cleats, man.....persevere. We've all been in your shoes where the chips are down and had to muddle through working crazy-long hours just to make ends meet. It's part of the biz, man. We're all in your corner--this is just one of those times you'll need to tough it out.

One more thing I wanted to add. If you can't load the 36" in your pickup due to only one wheel pulling, mount a 2x4 in the back of your truck near the back of the cab and then mount a cheap winch to the 2x4. Pop your 36" into neutral and manually load/unload safely with the winch. Viola!

Parts ordered for my 36. Hopefully should be here in the next week or so. Jack’s shipping is still way behind the new school methods of shipping. So I rolled with the 48 and the 21 today. Had to break down and get a rental trailer to use the 48. I hope my trailer is done before Wednesday. Thats my commercial properties day. And I need the Cheetah. But if push comes to shove I’ll rent another trailer.

Anyone remember this unicorn? 🫠 Scored this with only 200hrs on the clock. Older gentleman had it for his personal lawn. He finally kicked the bucket and he’s family was having an estate sale. Got it for pennies on the dollar. They really didn’t know what they were selling. It was just a mower to them!😂

Did the school system/bus service step up and repair your trailer?

Working with the schools/states insurance company. They are making me jump through hoops. Like go get us two estimates……blah…blah…..blah. The adjuster said it can take up to 6 weeks before he can issue a check. It has to go to this desk, then that desk, then another desks for approval. So I filed it with my insurance company and they had a check cut in two days. I’ll get reimbursed from the school system. I can’t go over a month without my trailer. I’d be on CNN with a headline. Owner of landscaping company goes postal…🫠
