Customer has a nice front lawn, 3000 sq' ft. His neighbor across the street had four dogs that liked to piss in 40 or so areas in this front yard.
The grass in these areas still are brownish after he had a landscaper excavate them and fill with new soil and seed.
Question, is it possible the landscaper didn't remove enough soil?
My recommendation is to try this again removing 5" to 6" of soil and redo.

The dogs urine changed the ph in the soil and probably also caused a nitrogen burn. Try adding sulfur to lower the PH in the damaged area of the lawn and then reseed after a good rain.

don't excavate soil, just scratch and add seed?
Add sulfur and don't add any nitrogen .
