I have a Brinley 625 lb lawn roller when filled with water. I searched and found out sand weigh's almost twice as much as water. So the question is what type of sand do you use if it will be mixed with the water? I don't want it to get hard in the roller.

I don't think you want to mix the two. Also the roller is probably only rated for 625 lbs. Too much weight could break it. Plus 625 lbs should be more than sufficent for a lawn roller. Water is easier because you can empty it out and fill it on site if possible.

depends on how bad it needs rolled. Wait till it's moist untill you do it. Some yards I'll go rent a 36in 2 ton roller if their yard has many ruts. Its all in knowin how my grandfather always said
