Ok..

house was under remodel and its a 1/2 acre property.

She wants topsoil and seed and hay in front. and possibly rototill rear and seed.

Im triing to push the 2 tandom loads of leafgrow dirt
and a bobcat.

Also a 40 x 20 driveway in pea gravel.

get dirt delivered on a monday and gravel.

Rent cat on tuesday spread dirt and gravel in applied spots.

wednesday come back and seed and 6x6 box driveway.

Also what is the formula for a 40 x 20 gravel driveway. how much (yards) of gravel??? And topsoil?? 1/2 acre



I have never done a job this big.. please please someone give me some ideas.

1/2 acre is 21,780 sq.ft
Driveway is 800 sq.ft
Stone to cover 800 sq.ft at 2" would be around 5 yards
but stone is normally sold by the ton and 5 yards is
around 6-7 ton
1" would be half that and 3" would be 7.5 yards
with the soil that going to depend how thick you want it and if you filling in dips, holes, or just enriching what’s there

Whats the reason for the topsoil? yard unlevel? or is for a topdress? IMO just putting on a top layer of topsoil a few inches deep is a waste. The grass will grow in native soils if properly fertilized and all mineral levels are correct.

Ok Yes i think I am wrong on this one.

The driveway i understand, about 7 to 8 yards of pea gravel.

the lawn is unlevel( from many large trees fallen fromt he hurricane) They wanted to fill in the front dips and reseed the whole front. the rear is ok but many small holes need to fill in.

Whats the best way to go about this. Im new to this aspect of landscaping.

The property dimentionsa are 186 long by 106 wide. its 19,716 sq feet.
