8 feet above the top of the truck bed, both on pick ups and 3 yd dumps.

Mine is 4' above the truck bed rail. One sheet of plywood horizontally works fine for me working solo. Sure, higher would be nice. But I haven't bothered yet.

Damm what is it flat out there try that hear and you will either flip it on a hill/curve or rip it open on one of the dozens of 9'8" -11'6" low rail road bridges we have. For that reason we go 6 feet on our flat bed dump trucks. I try to cap our max height no more then 10 feet currently both my trucks come in at 9 and half feet. Another reason why I do not like nor buy Fords the beds are a full foot taller then the GMC or Dodge beds.

Flat as a board, and straight too. Also, nothing under 13'6" here.

Mine is 6ft and hold about 23 cubic yards. I can load about 6000 pounds of leaves in the box. It's tall enough for me to stand inside and that's good. I like to give her a coat of graphite based paint each season. That helps when dumping, even if the debris has been in there a week or longer and been rained on...love it!
