I have a question concerning leaf loaders. I have seen pictures/posts of these machines quite often on this site, however nobody in market area has or uses a leaf loader. My question is is it possible to use the loader itself to unload leaves from the truck. I do not want to tie up our dump truck, however we have a couple Tiltmasters with 18' Landscape Bodies. I was thinking about building a large box on the bed, and put hinges on the section where the leaves are blown into the box so that it can swing open when we are ready to unload, and blow the leaves into our compost pile. Any input/pictures would be helpful. Thanks.

It could be done but it would probably be faster using a pitchfork. At least that is what I did last year. Also, the leaves are 10 times more compacted once they have gone through the loader
