A few of our blowers.
I am currently on vacation, but will be uploading some more pictures as soon as I am back home!
I much prefer curved shafts for their clockwise rotation. I like to walk left to right and pull the grass away from objects, and edge walking forward shooting debris away from me. Though, I use the discontinued Shindaiwa F230. It is just as long as a straight shaft. I have 20+ and some brand new ones still. I have been buying shafts and attaching new engines off other trimmers to build my own. Most of the people I hire come from a straight shaft background. But, I convert 80% of them to run the F230s if they are right handed. They come to greatly appreciate clockwise rotation. I don't think I would use any other curved shaft though. I will convert a straight shaft clockwise eventually. Just haven't had a reason yet. I have straight shafts for brush cutting and the occasional guy that likes them, but I haven't had a guy like that in about 3 years.
I wish Shindaiwa would make an F242. I would buy 30 right now. Until then I will have to make my own F242...
Yeah I forgot to mention that about them! Being right handed as well, I always want to be moving from left to right. I even walk across a lawn to the far corner if it means I'll be starting from the left!
I had to do a little research to even know what you were talking about, and google only has one picture of a straight shaft. It does look quite a bit longer then any of my Echo trimmers. From what you say about them ddixon7 they sound pretty nice. That's awesome that you have so many of the stocked up already as well! I don't have a shindaiwa dealer anywhere near me, so I've never actually tried their gear. I do hear good things though!!
What straight shaft trimmers are you running?
Shindaiwa T270s and T282s. I had a Redmax 3060TS blow up on me with under 10 hours of use. I won't buy any Redmax trimmer again.
Wow - I like that building and I'll bet that stove heats it up nicely.
Everything looks great, nice seeing that Stealth in that old pic!
Thanks! I love the space and yeah you're right! The stove has its flaws, but with a lot of wood and about 2 hours of time it can easily be 70 degrees in there on a day when its below freezing. It also helps that the building is insulated though. How old all that insulation is... I have no idea!
Haha thanks! It's crazy to think that that was our primary mower at the time. That was 8 years ago now, and things have really chanced. One thing that hasn't though, is the condo complex we got that mower for is still a place we mow today! It has grown as well though; from 12 to 25 houses!
Im back from my vacation and have a few pics of what I did while I was gone.
I was lucky enough to convince my grandfather that I needed a new chain saw to undertake the pruning that he wanted done on his small piece of farm land. Of coarse I knew exactly what to get! I was pruning mostly citrus trees while I was there. When I wasn't working I was usually cliff jumping!
Picked up all my new Echo stuff for the year!
Im glad that I brought back a little bit of warm weather with me.
