I have a 36" lesco hydro walkbehind. Lately, it is sluggish up hills and getting up the trailer ramp. It does not pull, so I don't think Its a pump.
    Any ideas? Thanks,
    Matthew

    In order of likelyness:

    Hydro belt and/or pulleys.

    Low hydro fluid.

    Low engine rpm.

    Weak pump.

    Failing wheel motor.

What could be the problem with a pulley? None of them show signs of bad bearings. The belt seems tight too. I keep the engine up like it should be, not rpm problem.
    Thank you,
    Matthew

When was the hydro. fluid and filter changed last ? Make sure the bypass valves didn't vibrate loose.

hmmmmm, i just got it used. It seemed well taken care of. Fluid is full, but I don't know when it was changed (I think it is motor oil) nor do I know about the filter. I'll check the bypass valve. It seems like it can "catch up with itself" if you know what I mean, then run out of steam?
