Huh. Do you have a pesticide license since your comments sound like you don't. :dizzy:
What I think Loonie is trying to say is "The brand name of the fertilizer you use isn't as important as a well planed and properly executed application schedule that meets the lawns changing needs though out a growing season."

Honestly if you have a bad program, then the very best fertilizer in the world won't help the lawn perform optimally.

Conversely, if you have a good program, and execute it properly, then you will get very good results with average fertilizer products.

Now I am not trying to put words into Loonie's mouth, but that is how I understand him.

Loonie, feel free to straighten me out if I am off target.

What are you talking about? The original post said that LESCO gives it a deep green. That is mainly beacuase of the iron. Scott's may green up the grass somewhat because of its N, but doesn't compare to Lesco with 50% slow release (what I am using is 24-0-11 2% with 50% SCU).
I agree, gotta love that iron for those nice green lawns. My favorite flavor of fertilizer is Lescos 32-3-8 2%Fe 30% SCU.

And to the person who said the brand doesn't matter or the type..... ur lawns must look like crap.... So your saying that as long as I know the science of lawn care that I can use straight whatever on my lawn and I will achieve the same results? YOUR WRONG!
If you are referring to my earlier post, then you have taken my words out of context.

I said, and you even quoted me right, the BRAND NAME doesn't matter as much. I didn't speak to the formulation of fertilizer as you imply when you say "I can use straight whatever on my lawn and I will achieve the same results?". I did not say that, and frankly I don't know how you can derive that from my words.

My exact words where: "if you have a good program, and execute it properly, then you will get very good results with average fertilizer products." An elementary part of having a good program is applying the correct formulation of fertilizer on the lawn to meet that lawns needs at that time. Your program can't be good if you fail to recognize this.

I am of the opinion that if the formulation of the fertilizer is correct for the lawns needs at that time, and you properly apply it, as part of a comprehensive season long plan, then the NAME BRAND of the fertilizer isn't as going to be the #1 ingredient to that lawns success.

Do you see the difference between what I said and what you claim I said?

Do you disagree with my premise? What part if you do.

Mr Barefoot, if this guy disagrees with any part of what you said, then I'm thinking all here can consider him an idiot.
I still want to see what he says.

Thank you for your kind words. :)

My bad for taking it out of context... But why use average? If your gona take the time to buy a good spreader and wana see good results then why use average fertilizer.. But you will see good results with a professional lawn program using average ferts...
We use above average fertilizers and top shelf weed controls in my company. I was not endorsing average products in my earlier posts. What I was pointing out is the correct product at the right time is more important then the name brand.
