Lesco Motorized Spreader?

I have a friend who bought one for his 16,000 lawn! Could not imiganie spending that much for a spreader for my house. Anyway, I've used it several times and it is good if you have hills, it goes fast, and did make the work easy. For $1300.00 I have not taken the plunge yet and not sure if I will. It took a little getting used to with that funny lever but would go faster than I could walk and running was an option if I wanted.

I have been using the Lesco Hydro spreaders for two years now, and I have nothing but praise for them. Mine has a 4 hp honda, and it performs well. It sure is a lifesaver on the 101 degree days on Zoysia lawns.
I understand that they are coming out with a ride on unit as well.

I have 2.

They were made with Honda 4hp for years (Since '90 anyway) In 2000, (because of Lesco's alliance with Kawasaki) they have a Kawasaki 4hp.

Overall, not a bad machine, but should have some updating, it uses 1980's technology, which isn't bad but I'd like to see the drive system improved, the spinner speed increased and the machine shortened.

Their only competition is the Honda 4-stroke powered Earthway. Good luck getting info on that from Earthway, though: Not on their website, filled out a reply card and they sent me info on manual only, dealer had no literature, so I called and they mailed my info on push models only.

They advertise for it, you just can't get your hands on one, go figure. :(

As far as the Lesco ride-on, my sources say to not hold your breath.

I don't know if this breaks the rules of this forum. But a business associate is are currently designing and prototyping a stand on spreader. Hydro drive with walk-behind capabilities. Not sure of the what the price will be or anything yet. will get back to this post later with more.
