Howdy,
I do mowing, landscaping, fert/squirt. My yearly premium is 520 bucks for 200,000 of liability. Can any of you guys get a PA quote smaller than that? Looking to shop around for the best deal. Must include these services though
Thanks.

I've been thinking about a new $1mil policy myself, I'm at $900+/year right now. I went through an insurance broker to get it, but it seems awefully high to me compared to other prices people are paying. I actually have been thinking of dropping it down to a $500,000 policy since I don't get into the commerical properties very often and stick with mainly residential.

I should really try one of the local state farm/progressive/allstate agents in the area.

A lot of insurance companies charge on "exposure" or the likelihood that you'll have an accident. State Farm does as does Harford (yes, I did spell that right, there's 2 different companies) Insurance. I get audited every year and they base the premiums on gross sales. I have 25 customers, you have 250. Guess who pays more?

I go through Nationwide and have a million liablility and it's only $450...but I don't do spray/fert...I'm pissed at PA for having us pay the gov't to do EVERYTHING now. Over the counter product = must be licensed...BULLSH*T. Planting a shrub...gotta have a greenhouse license. Building a retaining wall...must have contractor license...but you don't need any schooling...just send us $50. Greedy pricks!

Hey stop posting stuff like this, I don't any other states to get the same ideas going :nono:

And I was thinking of movingto Pa. Now what?

Now back to the insurance, I don't know if any other states have this but in NJ if you join NJ Farm Bureau and become a member you get discount on your insurance policy. You save more on insurance then the membership due.

Southside Cutter that sounds great, how does that break down? I must be paying way to much for my coverage, need more to get the commercial accounts, does that also cover WC?

Thanks for the Help!
Rose Lawn Care
I am going to change mine. I was looking at it and its 2000000.00 and so much for property damage. No WC, I am retired but this just covers myself, my son and grandson.
Changing to cover equipment to about 40,000 and the rest the same. Going from Farmers Mutual to Farm Bureau I think.

Yeah that does seem logical, I never looked at from that aspect.....guess it may be time for "less" customers...though that may not work as they would look at my gross revenue anyway....
