I am located in the great state of CT. I can't figure out how to get licensed as a landscaper. How do I do this and what are the benefits? Does this mean I am starting a business? To get insured do I have to actually start my own business?

First off contact the Ct. Sec. of State's office, or local Chamber of Commerce and find out what the requirements are. (Ct guys, maybe you can give a definitive answer). If you are engaged in providing good's or services, then yes you are starting a business.

Contact your insurance agent, the one who carries your home owners insurance, and discuss liability issues directly associated with landscaping business. Or, just shop around and talk to different agents about insurance.

It's all basically simple, you just got to get out and do it.

Regards, and best of luck to you.
