I was in the big box store today and there were two pelleted lime bags.
The green and Grow was $15 for 30lbs and the soil doctor was $5 for 40 lbs. I can not figure out the difference? Huge price difference, does anyone know why the smaller bag is 3x the price?
    Thank you.

The soil doctor is dolomitic. The other is probably calcitic. Both have a place but long term go dolomitic.

Someone is being dis-ingenious with the words on that shiny green bag. They are just trying to take somebodies money. Get the 40 Lbs. for 5$, its the same thing.

That label doesn’t really tell you much. Yes it’s dolomitic but how much? A blend? Do bags have similar calcium, mg, etc?

I pay $5 for 50 lb bag of lime from my dealer. You may be a homeowner. Either way go for the value. I’ve never used the green and grow. Maybe it’s marked way up because of name brand?

Usually the more expensive is fast release
I dont see it on that bag though
It takes less of the fast lime then regular and is available to the plant much quicker
