Hey guys, I live in Pa. and was wondering if you guys that offer landscaping services have to have a nursery certificate to buy and distribute plants to customers? My uncle said yes but I just wanted a second opinion. I did it on one job last year and hope for more this season so I want to be legal.

The answer is yes. When I started my mowing business last season I had a couple customers ask about basic landscaping, however it was only to move around existing plants on the property, clean up a couple small flower beds, etc.

I asked my friend (works for the PA Dept of Agriculture) he said you have to have a license to buy plants from nurseries & transplanting at your customers home. Moving around existing plants is ok...
