Hi I was wondering if anyone would have or could tell me where i could find a list of different kinds of shrubs. I have watched some YouTube of these landscapers who just had all this information in their head. But i have not been doing this long enough to have that down yet.

Another idea is get a list of shrubs your local nursery supplies. This way you know what's available and what grows in your area. We are a wholesale nursery in Des Moines, IA and we have a list of our most common shrubs on our website, https://www.dmfgardens.net/shrubs. We are in zone 5 so if you are in a different zone it would likely be different. Most nurseries also have pictures on their website (unfortunately we don't yet).

Sunset makes some great gardening books, especially for the price.

If you post your area it'll be easier for people to make suggestions. Different climates means different plants.

I've lived all my life in AZ and ID and have had a copy of Sunset Western Garden Book for decades now. If you are in another region they have others tailored for your climate. If I ever move to an area where it's no longer applicable I'd be buying an appropriate one for the region asap.
