little tiny "mole like" mounds

in the moist areas of my yard i have these little "mole hill" looking mounds.
thay are about the size of a quarter an a 1\4 " high.

i have St Augustine in zone 8b.

what is it? mole crickets?

could be mole crickets they generally don't harm St Augustine turf. However large population will eat St Augustine. Mole Crickets are pests in Bahia and Bermuda turfs. The big trouble with mole crickets is they are hard to kill this time of year. You must get them in 1st or 2nd instar. Top Choice is the pesticide of choice for mole crickets. It has 6 months residual for mole crickets.

To verify you have mole crickets open your garage door and leave the light on tonight. Check your garage floor serval hours after dark. If you have mole crickets there will be a few on your garage floor. Before Top Choice full moon was the best time to treat for them.
