Hey guys, Im new to the site and Im triing to get my rig right. I have a Ram 1500 4x4, 200 gal. lesco space saver, and a push spreader. The spreader is hanging off the back of the truck on a hitch mount. Obviously the 1500 cant haul the tank on its own without help. Do you guys think I would be better off using airbags or load assist. I can get them both for about the same price, so price isnt a factor.I know some are going to say to get a trailer but Im not interested in doing that due to parking in front of some of these houses is pretty tight. Im guessing the tank full will be around 2200lbs, I would also need to put a couple hundred lbs of fert. That would put almost 3000 lbs in the bed of the truck. Thanks in advance.

get the air bags for sure, better ride and adjustability.

we have them on our 1 ton dump truck and will be putting them in my 350 srw and our 2500HD this spring.

Leave the front end alone - get the bags you'll be happier with them...

Just make sure you get the adjustable bags with a in-cab controller...

jcwhitney has spotty shipping, truckspring.com has either firestone airbags or air lift, same thing for 250 as well

you realize that by putting 3K pounds in the back of your 1500 you are 2x over weight.... airbags and helper springs do nothing increase the load rating of your vehicle. your brakes, frame axles, springs, ect were designs for a max payload of 1500....do it right and buy a bigger truck....

Heck the tank alone when filled puts you over just on the water alone...
