Looking for ideas to improve my landscaping around my rental property. Tenant just moved out and will be holding an open house to bring in potential new candidates. Want to give that good first impression with the property. Used to do landscaping on the side and contributed to this forum. Can I get some ideas on what plant / shrubs might look good in the front? Mid Michigan (zone 5) location, Facing west. Looking for low budget easy to maintain. will be using 6A river stone.

Left corner - small tree (kwanzan cherry, crab) blue holly along foundation, dwarf crimson barberry foreground.

Narrow area in front - daylily

Right corner - purple leaf sand cherry (will need pruning in a few years)

    That's my 2 cents

You could try a dwarf alberta spruce off the left corner. No trees up against the house like many will suggest. Day lillies will take up half the walkway. If your just looking for a quick cheap fix up, I would just put some perrenials between the walk and house
