Awhile back I saw a product where you lay a trail of these 8 foot sections of pad so you dont damage the grass. Has anyone ever used this and what is the name of the product thanks.

Lumber. ;) Works well. Any lumber yard or Home Cheapo type store.

I think I saw an ad for what you are talking about in one of the trade mags before, but never saw them live.

    Alturnamats. They aren't cheap though.

Those matts are about $400.00 for a 4X8 sheet.

Much cheaper to buy 4X8 sheets of plywood. If you
have a heavy machine, >7000 pounds then buy at least
a 3/4" . We use 1" sheets. Not cheap, but not as expensive as the other matts, and they last about 3 or 4 seasons.

Thanks guys. I will go with the plywood. I did not think it would be that pricey.

You'll be money ahead and not nearly as frustrated all to hell and back repositioning those sheets of plywood everytime you go over one to just get a compact tractor w/industrial tires and never drive in the same spot more than a few times. Believe me, I've been where you're going.

Maybe the mats above are what I heard about, but my friend that started a tree service in Indiana bought mats to get his bucket truck into yards without damaging the lawn.

He did say that his are the same as are used by some outfits that move manufactured houses.

So a transportation outfit of those homes may be a good source for name hunting.
