He talks about getting into seal coating and seems like he has had more success with that.
Just be cautious, a lot of what went wrong was his own fault, not everyone else's as he makes it out to be. Especially if you read between the lines.
mark, if you're ever in north iowa look me up. i'd like to buy you a beer
Are you in the wooden shoe section of northern Iowa?
haha not quite. there are some areas about an hour away from me that are like that...but my area is not. I35 literally runs through my town. my actual town is a touristy place and actually doubles in population during the summer. lots of rich folk have summer homes here on the lake
Yeah good luck with that. Im still waiting for him to come to North Jersey. I think I owe him a 30 pack or bottle of something by now...
Sounds like you two need to make the drive to grand rapids!
Are there houses there like this?
@oqueoque Nice job finding that thread. I searched but came up empty.
Upon reading his post one thing hit me as a red flag of sorts.
He said "You get 2 customers a week that for whatever reason arent happy and you give them a free cut to shut them up."
Ah, no. He should have rectified the issue with the customer but no free cuts.
But it sounds like the real reason it did not work out for him was "I also realized i didnt like the business anymore."
Maybe it got the best of him but if his heart and mind were not into it, the struggling business was doomed.
Nothing personal, but I hope to never visit Jersey.
