Looking to know what I should have charged for this job as it was my first solo job and I got hosed.

What should I charge extra for a double sailor or a soldier border?

Custom cuts, colors, and soldier/sailor courses add 20% , typically

    Standard sailor course 5-10%

    Custom complicated patterns 20%

So since you have both custom cuts/patterns and complicated soldier courses and multiple colors
You could or should have charged 40-60% above standard for that.

So if 18 per square is your regular price
And that’s about 500 square feet, standard patio might have been $9000 and the extra work could have been as much as $14,400.00

    Would $18/sq include the stone?

So that’s the price to lay, I suppose?
