I was looking on C.L. and found this mower with two catchers and a striping kit. http://denver.craigslist.org/bfs/3689107992.html

I know that the company that makes this mower is having financial difficulties. I only use a 32" mower about 20% of the time at most. Do you still think this mower will be worth getting. My currant 32" is in great shape but has a lot of hours on it hence considering this mower to replace the Encore.

Any advice would be very helpful. I am scheduled to take a look at it tomorrow. Thanks, David

That seems like a decent deal. In the last few weeks I have done a hard target search for a used 32" wb for sale within a few hours of my location. Nothing has come up making it worthwhile for a road trip. Threw a couple offers out there but nothing stuck. I have seen many different brands such as worldlawn, redhawk, Ferris, Toro, xmark ect... all at various price points. For a thousand dollars you could do alot worse. I have seen troybuilts 33" and sutech mowers going for around $600-700.

The thing is I would sell my Encore which is still a pretty good mower w/gobbler for around $750-$800 That way I could spend about $200 for the up-grade. (newer mower) The guys that do own these mowers on this site have nothing but good things to say about them. I am just worried that the Better Co. might go completely out of Biz when I start needing parts, but I do know that a lot of parts from other mowers can work on other brands. I put a snapper gear-box on the Encore works fine. I hope I get someone who is still getting their parts from Better Lawn Equipment Co. an give me some insite about the status of the Co.

Looks like a good deal. Check that briggs, tip it up like you were mowing across a slope with the left side up after it is warm, like 30-45 degrees. I'm not sure if that engine is newer than mine, I think the newer engines corrected the problem. When the right side was down slope it smoked like I was trying to hide a battleship. Within a few seconds the entire yard was a huge thick cloud and resulted in a very unprofessional appearance. I changed my mowing patterns to avoid the smoke screen, but that is impossible on some properties. It eventually broke with low hours and I'm all Kawasaki now.

Yes, I'd feel a LOT better if that Q32 had a KAW. While I don't know squat about that Briggs, my KAW 16 KAIs have been excellent. You can still obtain parts from BOP.

Thanks guys, Makes me wonder if I should just stay with my Encore 32" as is does have a 15hp Kawi. that only smokes a little when it first starts up and clears completely up for the rest of the day. Never gives me trouble.
I'll still go take a serious look at it though. I think a grand for a slightly used mower, 2 accelerators catchers and with the stripe kit is going to be pretty hard to pass on.

After running a Kawasaki, that Briggs will sound like it's coming apart to you.

I would certainly try to find another one with the Kaw. I had a BOP with the Briggs, so that's how I know ;)

Well I decided to go ahead and buy it. It runs great I have a Friend that deals with mowers and getting a hold of a good used Kawi. if needed will be no problem (he says the Briggs is really not to bad of a motor while it lasts. She sold it to me for $900.00. I love the stripping kit. I wish it was one of those dually's. But I think I will get the hang of this mower. I am not sure about selling the Encore yet. I want to see how the Quick 32 does first. I will post some pics of the mower tomorrow.
Thanks all for all your advise. Later, David

Even with the Briggs, the BOP will have a great cut, so good luck with it :) Just wear your ear plugs. If you have any questions about it, contact a guy on here "Exactrototilling", I believe he has a great deal of experience with the BOP mowers.
