    Hey Guys,

I am not getting any spark to my twin Briggs lawn tractor. Is there a way I can test the magneto? How far away from the flywheel should the magneto be?

    Tnx,

    Jerry

The magneto is set at .010 to .012" from the flywheel. Most magnetos now days are solid state and can not be tested with out a lot of high tech gear. Mount the magneto and spin the engine is the best way to test. Remember to UNPLUG the kill wire on the magneto when testing. I have seen a lot of magnetos replaced needlessly because the problem was with the mower (bad wire or bad safety switch)
