Is there anything illegal about intentionally leaving information or quoting Scotts and Trugreen Customers without them asking? When I see a flag I stop.

Probably a stupid question but wasn't sure.

Thanks.

agree...i usually wait til the season is done, then aproach the customers, only reason why i wait is because a lot of people around here pre-pay chem lawn for the year, then i hit the cutomer in the fall when they are all pissed off at them, and they are willing to pay more for better service.

we do it all the time thru casual conversation while out working and noticing a TG treated lawn andthe customer outside doing something. it is all too easy to ge tthem to switch most times. BUT, some of the lawns they do are actually very nice and they do it so cheap they are getting a great deal and have no reason to move

Not only will i sell to these people, but I offer to do the cancel call for them, so they don't have to worry about it. You ave to warn these new customers though, that they will be receiving phone calls from that company in the next few weeks offering them some "tempting" deals.

So how does that phone call go over with TG? I thought about doing that but never have.

Oh, some times it is like a simple ok, but sometimes, they want to know who I am,...and I explain to them that I just represent them. I advise them that any future services performed by the company will not be honored for compensation.
