business cards, door hangers, flyers distributed in the paper, news paper adds, craigslist, google listing, yahoo listing, word of mouth,
Drive around and look for new businesses going up or places that look like they need work. call the owner and ask if they have a crew they use. sometimes u may get lucky. dont put anything in or on the mailbox. door hangers require walking alot if you want to be 100% certain they get to every house. when i was a kid, my dad was running for commonwealth atty. and made me pass out like 2000 flyers. i ended up dumping about 500 in the trash. theres no such thing as easy advertising. if you put in the sweat equity, it will pay off eventually.

Yeah I'm definatly going to put an ad on craigslist. I also checked into advance newspaper. its a small bi weekly paper. I found out I can place an ad in there for like 25 bucks. Yhe cool thing is it goes out to like 44,000 homes.

I use craigslist quite offen. i have gotten a few jobs this way, two being full service accounts and snow removal in the winter time. I'd have to say it's a good way to advertise considering its free and only takes a few minutes, but the down side is be prepared for spam emails out the A**! I roughly get 10 emails a day that are spam. Another thing is your competing with all the lowballers that will "mow any lawn for $15". The only advise i can give you is make your ad better than the rest. When someone reads your ad make them WANT your services. Thats where your marketing skills come in. Have fun and good luck to you. :waving:

I want to jump in with a question in regards to "Direct Marketing". Is it unprofessional to approach customers directly and offer your services with a business card? I.E during normal daytime hours, ringing their door bell, starting a conversation, offering your business, and then leaving a business card or flyer so that they can decide by themselves without you being there. I know people get intimidated when you position it as a yes or no question right up front. However leaving the flyer or card will allow them the comfort and convenience of calling you when and IF they want to use your service. Thanks.
