Melting Air Filter ?

    not just any backfire the queen mother of all backfires:laugh:
    Don't cut your engine right after you runing full trottle
    Let it idle for a short time :waving:

    Wow, then I feel genuinely ripped off with my Kaw KAI's air filtration least superficially. All I've got is a paper element with a foam pre-filter. I would think a backfire through the carb might just blow a hole through the paper. Though, I can't say I've ever experienced/heard(?) one of these. Have only 'heard' maybe a handful of actual backfires through the exhaust in 2 mowers over 6 years. this Kaw KAI air filter system substandard?

    Messages: 4,189's fine. Just service it regularly/more often.
    Obviously, the "Donaldson" canister type has a lot more surface area and usually has a better sealing surface than the other types ( plus it mounts a little higher, outta the dust), but unless the unit came equipped with one, or you order one for it when new, there's not much you can do about it now.
