Minnesota Insurance/law question

I have heard that the property owner is responsible for events that occur on thier property, thus if a hired person does damage or causes injury when on a job site it is first the homeowner's responsibility. Which is why insured contractors are a protection to the property owner.

Can anyone confirm this?

Home owners are responsible for all activities on thier property. They shouldn't be hiring any companies that don't carry insurance. Also if you are fertilizing in Minnesota you must carry insurance to cover your damages to thier property or you can't be licensed.
