What kind of people are out there o_O
They do realize if they miss a day @ $15 per hr. Thats about $120 per day times four weeks each month.
So they're willing to lose about $420 per month just because they're
dip-shiits. Then they'll cry because they're broke. Waaaa waaa waaa.:jester:

yea...see they DONT know that or think that way,
They are so accustomed to guberment checks that they get confused at the end of the week why the money isnt there,

Its because you didnt show up....what?? Then its YOUR fault for "jipping them"

I wish I was making this stuff up.

These guys only think about what they NEED, not what they have earned.

A local company (not in the green industry) does something I admire.

    Your based pay is $14/hr
    Plus 1 for attendance
    Plus 1 for paper work
    Plus 1no injuries
    Plus 1 for no accidents/losses

So you get a $4/hr bonus for all hours worked at the end of the season.
The attendance you might lose one, but the issue affects all of them as well if you're out a lot because it will be lower the fewer hours you work.
That could potentially be $4,000 or more at the end of the summer.

Unfortunately “landscapers” are a dime a dozen. And there’s always someone out there who will work for less than you can.

Build a good reputation, command a higher rate because of it, use the extra money to offer a better pay package to attract better applicants, sharpen up your interview process to weed out the bad ones, be a good place to work/respect your employees to keep the good ones around.

Even then it’s likely employees will always be your number one issue.
