I will be installing the plates for the EZ Dig pro and I was curious what you guys thought of drilling and tapping the boom to install the plates. The other option is a High strength epoxy but I would hate for one of them to fall off so I am leaning towards epoxy and bolts.LOL The bolts would be 1/4 20.

So do you think drilling the boom would cause any problems?

Go for it, thumb pivot points and brackets are welded on all the time, nothing wrong with drilling and tapping or welding, what else can you do do? Duct tape?

Either way I would add some thin wire or pull ties as a secondary protection.

No way would I drill into the boom. I can just see stress cracks starting all around those holes. I would grind the paint off and weld it on for sure, just don't run a huge solid bead and never let up or you will get it to hot. Short welds on oposite sides.
