I am just starting part-time and I'm having a tough time deciding on a mower. I have an opportunity to purchase a new, left-over 01 Gravely Pro 300, W/B 50" hydro 17 hp Kaw for $3500. Other, newer models are running $5500. In your experience, were there (or have your heard of) any problems with 01 Pro 300s.

do not be confused. if that unit is a new '01...for $3.5k, and you wanna cut grass...buy it.

don't worry about the "problems" aspect of your decision, go buy it immediately.

I don't know much about the Gravely's but that does sound like a pretty good deal.

yes. that unit will still make you proud even at 14 hp.

you'd be getting a gravely mower for lesco prices.

    I say buy.

I think you find out the price difference is because the new ones have the newer hand controls instead of the pistol grips.

I picked up a 17 hp 48 H pro with electric/recoil start, floating deck. but with pistol grips and saved a couple of hundred.

I think you will be happy with your choice.
