Mowers for $750

A friend want's to sell me 2 walk behind mowers. A 36" Toro Commercial mower and a 33" Troy-built Residential. He want's $750 for both and an extra $100 for a sulky for the toro. He want's to sell them to get a new mower. Should i talk him down on price or take it? Seems to be a good deal but the Toro looks like it has been used ALOT but i haven't looked at them at all so i'm not totally for sure on the deal. Any help on what price i should pay or maybe what to look for on used mowers. The Troy-built apparently has low hours of use.
