Mulch Help (grass, leaves, Chicken manure)

    any advice on getting a mulch pile started, should i use a barrel so i can turn it ? probably using it for a garden

    Chicken manure, you do not want to use for a 'mulch', sounds like you're talking about the 'composting' process...
    In my opinion those barrels are way to labor intensive, because you're dealing with such a small area, that building up the microbial growth to the extent of heating a pile as 'should' occur in real compost, isn't going to happen on its own...

    Fro smaller piles I like to 'layer the materials' under a few inches of soil... add more materials add more soil... tilling it in to a specified spot, over and over again will also give you a quicker and cleaner breakdown...
