anyone know a good technique to get large areas of mulch smooth. i just did 70 yards and some of the larger beds (4,000 sq. ft.) have a ripple looking effect. i would like to make them look smooth. i thought about trying a chain link fence and dragging it over the area, but don't know if that will be effective. thanks in advance.

I have had a great deal of sucess using a fan metal rake. Flip the rake upside down and drag lightly through the mulch. This will give you a very good end result.
