The other day I finally bought and installed the mulch kit for my 48" hydro wb.
    Wow what a difference....
    Better cut.
    No discharge to think about.
    Better striping.
Clutch engagement time is much quicker - lighter blades?
    Much quieter operation.
Very little difference in cut speed, if any (on normal 5-7 day growth).
And lastly, the clippings never blow back onto me. :)

Overall, this has been one of my best buys.
Without the discharge to consider I'm actually much quicker around the property. I'm able to pick the most efficient course and keep the stripes clean.
Even though it may be slower going on an over-grown yard, in the big picture the mulching wins in the speed department.

If you've been thinking about going to a mulcher - do it.

Is the kit from the dealer/gravely?
    What does it consist of?
and what do they go for?

Yes. It comes from the dealer ($140)

It comes with 3 new baffles, 3 new blades and a bunch of nuts/bolts.

It took me about an hour to install.
You must take the deck off as there are 3 pilot holes already there that you will probably need to drill out.
