Take it back to the dealer. If you are a commercial cutter and it is less than a year old, it is still under warranty. If you are a homeowner the warranty is 5 years. If not, being it actually runs, but just won't idle, it is probably a quick (and cheap) fix. Most carbs require a special tool to adjust them.

i have an echo gt 200r it will start if you hold it full throttle but it wont idle at all does anyone know how to adjust the carb or what the problem might be
You may or may not have a fully adjustable carb on this unit. If it's a fully adjustable one you will see two screws next to each other on the carb'. For now leave these, just below these should be a slightly larger screw head, turn this in (clock wise) to increase the idle speed. Try this and if it don't work come back and we'll go through the mixture adjustments.
