Another one of my engines is acting up. My brand new 15hp Kaw that only has 70 hours on it is now acting up. This is the second engine in less than a months time.

It's not that I am not maintaining them, (maybe too much) but what is my luck. This time it seems at though that the engine is not firing one of its cyclinders.

This reminds me of a funy thing an old man once told me. He said "I'll just never understand it....they can make motorcycle engine that will run around the world and back....but they can't manage to make a lawnmowe engine that will last more than 2 seasons!!!"

He wasn't referring to Kawasaki at all, just mower engines in general. But if you really think about it, what he did mean has some truth to it. These small engines are not cheap by any means and I think we accept engines that are notorious for having lousy reliability to power our mowers.

Anyways, sorry to hear your misfortune. That sounds about like my luck. However, this should be a quick fix under warrenty. It's likely you just have a bad coil.

Could be that the muffler is stopped up on one side. I have had this problem on one before.

You run crews? Is/are problems from same crew or operator, or is that you?

No it's not the crews at all. Basically the crews know that when equipment is down, then their hours our down. Because not just one crew is set to a particular mower all the time. All the employees run various equipment.

I thought about it before, but the first engine went because of a faulty oil pump, and now this one is something internal as well, nothing that is our fault. Dealer already told me that it wasn't my fault and not to worry because it WILL be covered under warranty.

In 5 weeks.....

Trimmer broke, blower broke, bought another one...fell out of trialer on road and broke...mower recoil broke...fixed it...day later engine broke....Rider oil coller broke....fixed it...2 weeks and gasket blew...next week clutch went out....Car dies..cant figure out problem...got tired of it all and went and bought a new machine UNDER WARRANTY.....hydro motor broke the first day.....

grasscapeinc, If I had all those problems I think I would have a mental breakdown and take up a job that has absolutely no mowwing parts. Dog walking buisness maybe??:dizzy:

dealer told me the problem today, it was the crank shaft pulley. It was basically all wore out, nothing to grip onto. Only after 70 hours.
