Husqvarna makes the mz line. Great mowers at reasonable prices. An mz6128 is 61" with a 28hp briggs. Also the mz5224 i believe it is. 52" with a 24 or 25hp. Large drive tires and commercial quality transmissions. Well built machines all around. The mz6128 is right around 5k and the mz5224 is around 4500 or so. Well worth the money on these machines!

I looked into the Husqvarna's, the local dealer carries the MZ6128 and RZ5424. The MZ looks close to the two that I mentioned earlier, but for $1000 more. What exactly would the benefits be?

I do value the discussion I had so far, but would really welcome more before tomorrow if possible.

The Husky MZ's have heavy duty frames and more importantly, 3400
series drives that are commercial grade, and will give an excellant cut.
They are also very easy to service, including real grease fittings and
a very easy belt change out.I was saving up to buy a Toro, but from feed
back from this site I purchased the MZ6128 and am very satisfied. I have
operated commercial grade ZTR's and this machine measures up. The frame is the same as the commercial grade machines and so is the drives.

I'd go with a Hustler or eXmark myself.

If you could demo the mowers in advance that might help you to choose what he might like the best. I spent my money on a Hustler Fastrac.:usflag:

Finally picked up the eXmark Quest S-Series.

We'll see how this performs over the weeks.

    Thank you everyone!

I called your local dealer, and was talking to him about that mower sounds like a good deal. :waving:
