i am running a stihl fs70r and love it but when it comes time to replace it i will go with the fs100 because it has a little more power and weighs 2 ounces more than the 70.

With the husqvarna heads you can literally be re spooled and trimming again in under 30 seconds, plus the center part free spins separately, there's hardly any wear on it at all when you bump

I second that and oregon makes a speed feed adapter for it. Stihl makes a great trimmer but the head sucks.

Though I feel that all new trimmers are absolute JUNK compared to the 90s models, particularly the 230, 260, and 270 Shindaiwa models, I would go with a 2660TS Redmax. I bought one and it is decent. Lots of torque from the gear head and maxcellerator pump. I blew up a 3060TS in 8 hours of use so I am not completely sold on Redmax trimmers. I don't like Echo and Stihl because of their carbs, I truly prefer Walbro. New Shindaiwa's are alright if you take off the cat muffler and put on an old school muffler. For example, I have dozens of 230s, so I took my T242 muffler off and put on a brand new T230 muffler. Runs great now. What you should do if you want the best of the best is go to Mexico or the Virgin Islands or something and pick up a brand new T230 or T270. Then you would be set for the rest of you life. While your there, pick up a dozen Shindaiwa chainsaws and sell them to me, and get me 30 each of everything else old school Shindaiwa you can find lol... I HATE the EPA with a passion.

I just love one pull one start run run run run run run run never die from the old Shindaiwas. They truly were the cream of the crop, a long with the old true/classic 2 cycle Stihls and Redmaxs.

I have a Stihl 55% and my dealer said this is the very best residential trimmer money can buy and I agree. I will be buying a 90R in the future, but you can't go wrong with Stihl, I have a 40 year old chainsaw that will still lay down timber.

REDMAX TR2350S , All you need. I use them everyday. They are lightweight and a good price.
