I have a used Scag 36" walk behind. I'm just starting out in the buisness as well. I can cut one yard with it, and it looks great. I can use it on the next, and it leaves some pretty nasty footprints, as well as pushing over large blades of grass, rather than cutting them. The blades are brand new, and the mower was just tuned up. Any tips, or cutting techniques anyone can suggest? Many thanks.

Did you buy that Scag that was in the American Classifieds? Just curious, because I thought about buying it, but I really don't need it. Did they come off the price any?
What kind of grass does it cut good on and what does it cut bad on?

Yes the type of grass is very important, here bahia will almost always cut different than st. augustine. Bahia requires sharp blades and blades with good lift.
