I intend to purchase one some time this week and I am doing a Google now but I thought I might ask and see what some of you have used and recommend. I would especially be interested in knowing which ones to stay away from. I have enough useless junk now.
Were going to be establishing some wild life areas and it needs to be able to handle wild flower seeds. I tried using an old john Deere drill but even after mixing in sand it was too fluffy to feed correctly. I have a push broadcast spreader but the holes are too small for the seed I'M using. The seeds are tiny but they clump so bad I'M thinking an electric one would let me reduce travel speed and give it more time to feed. I'll be using it mounted on a tractor for this job but something I can put on my truck of Dixie Chopper as well is what I'M looking for. Under 5 bills would be nice too.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

I have the earthway ATV unit and it works good for most applications, right down to salting 15 parking lots in the winter time

I have an electric Earthway ATV and hate it. doesnt spread evenly, cloggs up. The agitator is to small. I have a Bifco tow behind that functions better, fewer cloggs and more even spread path. The track width of the tires could stand to be a little wider. You can buy either for under your $500 limit

I use mine mainly for grass seed and think the Bifco is better sutied for that purpose the Earthway does alright with ferts and pellitized lime.
