The Grande L 3130 is a “class above” tractor made to do heavier and more challenging task than the B 2910/B7800 should be expected to do with “years of dependable service and without down time and repairs”. The L 3130’s extra weight, larger tires, higher clearance, etc. gives it the muscle to out pull, out load, out mow and “ride more comfortably” than the B 2910/B7800

We own a Grand L 4630, which is larger than the tractor you are speaking of, but all the instruments are the same on the grand L series.

We have a L3010 which is the generation before the Grand L. I used that tractor for 5 years fine grading and installing landscapes, backfilling retaining walls, man that is one tough tractor. I'm not sure about the B series, but one definate advantage to the L is an open floor board. More operator comfort. The 3130 replaced the 3010 FYI. You can narrow the stance of the grand L to get in tight areas and if you are using a loader your lift height will be greater. PM me with what you are trying to use the tractor for I will be more than happy to give more tailored advise to you.

    We own and run everyday
    S250 Bobcat
    4600 John Deere
    L3010 Kubota
    L4630 Kubota (cab)
    L9000 Tandem Dump
    F-700 Dump
    F-600 Dump (spare)
on the landscaping jobs (the farm has more toys)

My dad has a 3130 and a Deere 4600. The deere kicks the crap out of that 3130. I hate using that Kubota. It's tippy and the hydraulics are inconsistent. Deere all the way.

If you are grading or bush hogging, there is only one tractor to have. Ford 445D, or iot's big brother, Ford 545D 4x4 with an 8x8 shuttle shift. We have lifted 60" box trees without even shaking the boom, and they have more PTO power than anything in their class. They will run with little maintenance for 30 years and because Ford owns the landscape market, parts will be readily available.

Can you compare a F-150 to a F250 super duty????
    Or maybe a 1500 silverado to a 2500 silverado
How can you compare a 3130 Kubota to a 4600 John Deere
    We have a 3010 Kubota, a 4630 Kubota(same generation as 3130), and a 4600 John Deere.
If you want to compare you need to put the 4630 with the 4600, thats a closer comparison. As for the tippy situation, where are the tires and wheels set? They hydraulics I will say JD has some strong hydraulics, but the Kubota has it on speed.
Don't get me wrong the John Deere is a great tractor, but Kubota is great as well.

But if you read the first post you would know that he was comparing the B and L series Kubota, I didn't see any mention of the 4600 class JD.

If you want to compare the JD use 4200,4210 , but Kubota is cheaper and argueable better/equal its all opinions both are great choices.

The L3130 is the better, bigger and has all the fancy upgrades and the price reflects it.
A better comparison to the B7800 is the B3030 they have the same hp, same frame size but the B3030 has all the upgrades is the only differences between the two.

There are no more Fords... they are Farmtrac. Escort made the Fords and they still make the 455 and 555 but the rest are not really the same as Ford anymore, at least not according to the Farmtrac dealers.

I would strongly suggest considering a Mahindra. Heavier tractor, more lifting power, better warranty, more bang for your buck. They manufactured more tractors in 2004 than any other manufacturer. They now have two plants in the US (Texas and Georgia) and are blowing the market wide open. They are very nice tractors.

At least worth a look and comparison... http://www.mahindrausa.com unless you are just dead set on Kubota... the highest cost per pound tractor made. Not knocking Kubota... have a friend who sells them and they are VERY good tractors... and they own the market share for now... just not as good a bargain as Mahindra and a few others.
