I presently have a 50" ZTR but it is a high end home owner. I can't decide on a 48" or 54" commercial? I have 3 lawns as of right now that are 2 plus acres and 10 others I can use either on front lawns. But how many gates might fit a 48" but not a 54"? Also I have 1 acre of cutting at my oun house. Thanks in advance for your opinion. Not looking for opinions on brand just size.

Big, big big. I have a 52" which I thought was tons but I will never own one again under 61". Bigger = better.

every situation is different and you didnt give us much info to go on. are there lots of gates at all your lawns or just a few?? how big are most of your gates?? how big are most lawns?? are you planning on having a smaller WB for gated areas?? if so and your mowing 2+ acre lawns i would go 61" ZTR and the largest WB that will fit in gates. if there are some 2+ acre lawns and you only starting out im under the assumption that there are many more in your area and you will be picking more up. a 61" ZTR may sound large, but once you get good on one you can fit it in places you never imagined. they dont scalp the lawns as bad as you might think, espically once you get good at realizing how to lift the deck slightly on abrupt inclines.

i use 61" ztrs and 48" WB for gate areas, and a 21" for very small gates. i would like to get a 36" WB in place of my 48" since most of my gates are slightly narrower than the 48".

52" is the perfect size for me. Do not cut anything above 2 acres. Also have a 36" walk behind for gated yards.

we are useing a 60" Ferris IS3000 {model just before they went to front suspension.....very nice comfortable ztr...and i agree with DARICEK ...i have amazed myself with the places you can put one of those monsters I.E. we mow 3 cemetaries and you can squeeze a 60" deck inbetween stones that are 60 and 1/4 inches apart and not rub pain on them......I would definately support the biggest mower you can afford BUT always have a smaller one for little jobs even if it takes a little longer with a smaller mower.....we also run a 32 inch belt drive walk behind
