I need help quoting a 3000 sq ft mulch installation. It is for a drainage ditch. I live in central NJ and do not want to lowball the job. I have a small bobcat and ford f350 dump truck too. Any suggestions? Thanks:)

Cool.. I am in manchester/jackson area. I bid 1250 on the job and the guy said I was high. Man..... people are really lowballing around here.

$1250 is more than fair. You should not go lower, especially if there is ANY prep work at all.

I thought so too. I even gave him a better rate because I don't mind extra work early in the season :D

Hey guys, havent been on here much its hard to keep up with all the work, but thats a great thing!!! Personally mulching a drainage ditch is a bad idea, what happens when it fills with water, I would use stone or hydro it. But 28 yards of mulch??? That would be at least 2400, We charged 1500 for 14 yards last week with minimal clean-up work. If the client turns your price down don't sweat it let someone else bust their buts, it's not worth it to kill yourself and not have enough money to even eat lunch with. Good luck this season everyone.

I tried to sell him rip rap or stone but they weren't hearing it. People are penny pinchin' around here and with all the lowballers they can do it. Mark, I agree, let someone else break a sweat for lunch money.
